Gallery wall spacing
Find repeatable gaps and outer margins for a clean row of equal frames.
Balanced mode leaves the same open space at both wall edges and between frames. For a tighter cluster, use the compact footprint.
Between frames and at both edges
Using a restrained interior gap
Marking order: find the wall center, mark the arrangement center, then work outward. Paper templates are safer than measuring each nail independently.
How the estimate works
Transparent math, practical judgment.
Balanced spacing subtracts the combined frame width from the available wall width, then divides the open space by one more than the number of frames. That creates equal gaps between frames and at both edges.
Before you commit
01Measure the outside of each frame, not the artwork opening.
02Lay the frames on the floor and photograph the arrangement before transferring it.
03Use paper templates and mark the hook position on each template.
