Convert the frame position you want into the exact wall mark your real hook or wire requires.
Measure under tension. Pull wire upward as it will sit on the hook, then measure straight down from the frame top to that contact point.
Place the hook on the frame centerline.

Before drilling: confirm the wall material, fastener rating, hidden utilities, frame weight, and actual hardware drop. The calculator positions marks; it does not select structurally safe hardware.
How the estimate works
Transparent math, practical judgment.
Hook height = desired frame-center height + half the outer frame height − the measured hardware drop. For two hooks, Hangometry places equal offsets on either side of the frame centerline.
Before you commit
01Measure wire drop while pulling the wire upward under tension.
02For D-rings or two hooks, measure their horizontal separation center to center.
03Confirm wall material, frame weight, fastener rating, and hidden utilities before drilling.
